We are Michael Auld (Mike) and Lynda Du Vallier, owners and operators of Capalaba Cat Cottage. Mike has been a veterinarian for over 40 years. He was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland and Lynda grew up in Manly, Sydney and moved to Queensland in April 2007 with 3 Russian cats and a Ragdoll.
After having a not-so wonderful experience at a boarding cattery, Lynda’s 4 cats needed veterinary attention urgently and were sent to Mike’s practice at Belmont Rd Vet Surgery. The rest is history!
We married in November 2019 at Mt Tamborine on the most beautiful day of our lives. Mike has his family in Brisbane with one son, Jordan. He also has “Ellie-May” a 14.5 year old Australian cattle dog, who loves cats! We all enjoy family time together whenever possible.
We have enjoyed a bit of travel over the years and fun experiences around Australia and overseas. Mike enjoys the garden and doing things around the home. Lynda’s hobby is cat photography which has now become a business – CATOGRAPHY. Lynda is a multi-award winning entrepreneur and is always coming up with new ideas and ventures.
We are winners of the Redlands Coast 2020 Business and Retail Awards. We won Micro Business of the Year AND Business of the Year! Thank you to all our supporters and cat friends.
We have been breeding cats for over 10 years: Russian Blue, Black and White as well as the Scottish Shorthairs and Longhairs. We love breeding and showing cats! A huge part of our year is showing pedigreed and companion (pet) cats at local and National cat shows. We have 2 cats, Cleopatra and Mr Pugsley, who have won the title of Supreme Companion at National shows plus multitudes of other awards which you can see on this website.
Our cats have also had multiple roles in movies, (The Dog Days Of Christmas, Netflix series -Lunatics with Chris Lilley, TV commercials, advertisements and many more. Mercy, our number one kitty, who you will see throughout this website, starred in a Channel 10 documentary ‘’Top Cat’’ when she won Supreme Companion of the EKKA in 2011. Clever girl, Mercy! We love showing at the Queensland EKKA and have many beautiful rosettes and trophy awards.

Lynda is an awarded cat photographer and has been photographing beautiful memories of cats for over 10 years. With a huge amount of experience working with cats, you can be assured that she will get some fun and memorable moments for you. Lynda has designed her photographic studio so kitty feels safe and content whilst she photographs your furry friends.
The studio is also air-conditioned for kitty’s comfort. Cats have an individual personalities and Lynda has a gift for being able to capture each one beautifully. Lynda can set kitty up in so many different scenes and backdrops and you can even suggest a theme or have kitty in a colour theme to match your decor. Lynda’s favourite camera is Canon 5D, and the photos are crystal clear and high resolution so you can reproduce these onto any product or canvas. Lynda takes bookings all year round.
